Happy February! I hope your 1st few days of the month are going well. I can’t believe it’s already been a month since we’ve sat down here to talk all things new in wellness but I’m exited to bring you another updated post! Since the New Year, the Wellness world has been booming with new trends to try. As I was sifting though my ideas for this post, I finally narrowed it down to three new things I’m loving at the moment. So, without further ado, here are your Wellness trends February 2017!
Adoptogens are a class of herbs and mushroom that have been used for centuries as support for the body’s natural resistance to “adverse influences”. Adaptogens specifically support your adrenals, the glands that manage your hormonal response to stress and help you cope with fatigue and anxiety. These magical gems have filled nature for centuries but are just now making their big break into the Wellness scene. Stress is something that plays a large role in our world today so this discovery is nothing to brush over. You can find hundreds of different variations of these, often in powders, teas and supplements. Below, I have listed a few that are great to try!
2.) Bon Appétit’s “Healthy-ish”-
My Love for Bon Appétit magazine is something that has just recently been taken to a whole different level. I’ve always appreciated the beautiful photography, unique recipes and overall feel of this magazine and their new addition is the cherry on top. The magazine just launched their new sister issue, Healthy-ish, A realistic, real food play on their main mag. When I first heard of this, I really thought it was too good to be true. I clicked the link and I was suddenly in an endless black hole of incredibly mouth-watering, clean, wholesome recipes. You can find Healthy-ish online or in stores. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking it out!
3.) Bone Broth-
Bone broth is something I’m fairly new to but a big fan to say the least. The sound of this stuff was off-putting for a while until one day I was strolling the aisles of Whole Foods and I decided to go for it. So, to start, bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and are filled with healing compounds including collagen, glutamate, proline and glycine (helps with sleep). It also protects your gut, joints, promotes youthful skin and each 8oz. serving packs in 10g of naturally occurring protein. And not to mention the flavor is rich and delicious! I often times drink it warmed for a quick snack and it can make a flavorful base for many soups. My current favorite is EPIC Brand Bone Broth.
Well, there you have another month of wellness! I hope you learned a little something today and will see you tomorrow for my regular Sunday Post. Wishing you all a relaxing weekend!
